A cool refreshing drink to enjoy during the summer is a nice tall glass of homemade lemonade made with real sugar. Lemonade has never been one of my favorite drinks unless it was homemade mixed with some fruit; and what better fruit to add than blueberries? This is such a simple and quick recipe!
I did actually start this post and edited all my pictures on Sunday when it was suppose to go live. Oops! I guess I could blame it on the fact that I worked all weekend and have been picking raspberries like crazy! (ready to start experimenting with raspberry desserts!)
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 – 1 1/2 Blueberries
3/4 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice
6 Cups Cold Water
Combine the sugar and one cup of water in a
saucepan over medium heat; stir until the
sugar is dissolved. Mix in the blueberries and
bring to a boil; reduce heat and allow it to
simmer until the blueberries have broken
down. It will take about 3-5 minutes. Strain
the mixture through a cheesecloth or mesh
strainer. Mix the strained mixture with the
lemon juice and five cups of water in a large
pitcher. Serve over ice and enjoy.
I hope you enjoy this amazing lemonade! Until next time!
